about

Born in Churchville, Pennsylvania, I have always been drawn to the surrounding landscape… rolling hills, old spindly trees, winding streams, and vast stretches of farmland amid suburban sprawl. I am attracted to painting natural objects and environments that often capture light and color.

The act of painting landscapes is an immersive and transient experience for me… insects crawling on the canvas, winds blowing as a storm approaches, and changing light situations, it is both challenging and rewarding altogether.

In addition to landscape painting, I have a love for fusing wheel thrown ceramics with textural and hand-built details that often cross the line between functional and ornamental. As with painting, my ceramic pieces are often inspired by nature.

When I am not creating, you will find me in the art classroom. Currently and for the past fifteen years, I have taught primary art (grades K-2) in the School District of Springfield Township; in Oreland, Pennsylvania. What a joy it is to foster a lifelong love of art in the next generation of young artists.

As an art teacher, I look to challenge students to keep looking... and get lost in the art experience for what it is... exciting, dynamic, and interconnected with our world.
